ABSTRACT
In the research that is dealt with in this article, the objective of estimating the relationship between innovation and technology transfer, in Mexican companies, according to the enterprise sector to which they are oriented, and distinguishing between the sectors that innovate, those that they receive some transfer from scientific and technological institutions. To comply with this, economic-administrative information was used for the period from 2010 to 2018 from a sample of companies from different sectors located in the 32 entities of Mexico. Using non-parametric methods, sufficient evidence was obtained of a significant and positive relationship between innovation activities and companies in the construction and trade sectors, as well as a significant and positive relationship between technology transfer and companies in the construction sector. It is concluded that large construction companies tend to be more innovative and receive a greater transfer of knowledge from scientific and technological institutions. These results are considered to be of interest to entrepreneurs, financial analysts, decision makers in matters of government policies, as well as to researchers, who can promote policies to support and strengthen innovation in Mexico.
