Abstract:
Spiritual education is conceived as a transversal axis of the school curriculum, linking any knowledge with the spiritual dimension of the person. In this sense, the purpose of this essay is to analyze the scope of spirituality education in the consolidation of an intelligent school; to this end, the following thematic axes are dis- cussed: (a) the intelligent school and the need for spirituality education or education of the spirit; (b) keys for the activation and understanding of spirituality in intelligent schools; and (c) spirituality education (education of the spirit) as a transversal axis of the school curriculum. Discussion took place in the framework of a sustained reflection on the analysis, integration, and relationship of the concepts of spirituality, spirit, education, emotion, skills, and intelligent school. For this purpose, Documentary Research was used as a system for collecting, analyzing, and systematizing information. One of the conclusions of interest is that the education of the spirit, through the application of any activation key, has a significant impact on the intimacy of the person, that is, on his/her interiority and, of course, on his/her spiritual life. Any growth in spiritual life should be reflected in significant changes, both in the perception of the world and in human relationships in everyday life.
