Abstract
This essay reproduces and extends a conference given by the author in which he briefly reflects on the writing style in sociology. The central point of the reflection is the relationship between sociology and literature and how this relationship can be fruitful in going beyond the sociological tradition in expressing their ideas. Through three 'acts', the author presents some examples that have been inspiring in his practice of sociological writing and, at the same time, highlights his little experience in literary writing.
