Abstract
The aim of this work is to address the first transformation in the original title of Esteban Pichardo's Provincial Dictionary of Cuban Voices, which occurred in 1849 with the introduction of casi-razonado. By exploring the historical and linguistic context of the time, together with the author's personal circumstances, it is possible to understand the ideological reasons behind the change and to reach conclusions about the significance of the created word for the construction of the lexicographic term encyclopedic dictionary.
