This is a case of intestinal amebiasis presented at the San Rafael de Alajuela Hospital, in a male patient of 42 years old, suffering from a bloody diarrhea, with an evolution of three weeks. Also be has a diffuse abdominal pain, progressive loss of weight and appetite associated with asthenia, adynamia and difficulty passing stool. A colonoscopy with a biopsy was performed and revealed an intestinal inflammatory disease due to of the presence of trophozoites of Entamoeba histolytica.
