Open-access Primary Osteoporosis: Stratification of the Risk of Fracture in Primary Care

Abstract

Osteoporosis is a skeletal disorder characterized by compromised bone strenght, which predisposes to the development of fragility fractures. The diagnosis of osteoporosis is established by the presence of a true fragility or, in patients who have never sustained a fragility fracture, by measurement of bone mineral density.
