In this paper it is analyzed key concepts for legal medicine valoration of sexual crimes by a bibliographic review which includes historical, technological, scientifical aspects of this issue. It is insisted the difference between hymen rupture (old or recent) and/or congenital recess; because of the importance that this carries in law procedures. Photographies and figures are included to show these concepts and its optimal evaluation.
