Open-access An experience of initial adult literacy in marginal-urban context: a contextualized program proposal for the regular educational institution

Abstract

According to national surveys and everyday experiences of teachers in poor urban schools, many parents do not have basic skills in reading, writing and basic arithmetic. This paper presents a pilot experience of literacy for parents in a marginal-urban institution and a programming proposal for adult literacy in this context, with their respective curricular axes and minimum achievement indicators by level, all this with the aim of promoting an educational interaction between children, parents and school.
