Abstract
This paper is dedicated to examine the novel Al florecer las rosas madrugaron, by José León Sánchez. It focuses its attention on two aspects: the functioning of some paratextual elements and the reworking of the relationship between truth and lies. It concludes that poetry is posed here as an experience that puts in crisis the rigidity of a clear separation of truth and lies.
