Abstract
The forage potential of Costa Rican corn was evaluated, the phenology of the crop, the height of the plant, the number of leaves and the diameter of the stem were recorded every 15 days, from the month of establishment and until the day of harvest. The stem was the part of the plant that contributed the most (between 44 and 54 %) to the production of total green forage, followed by the cob (between 24 and 34 %), while the leaf is the one that contributes the greatest to the yield of dry material.
