Abstract
This paper systematizes an assessment of intangible cultural heritage. The project was carried out in all of the regions of the country and data was collected through participatory workshops with people who are renowned for their cultural work or members of community organizations. The assessment allowed us to identify various elements that affect how this kind of cultural asset is safeguarded, but most of all it revealed our ethno-cultural diversity with all its particular characteristics as well as the weakness of public institutions when it comes to dissemination and following up on community action.
