The effect of the incorporation of BioCarbon to the soil over the incidence of the pathogen <span name="style_italic">Fusarium oxysporum</span> f. sp. <span name="style_italic">cubense </span>and the development of the rooting system in banana plants was assessed. The research took place in the university glasshouse (Universidad de Costa Rica, Atlantic Branch) and the plants used were Gros Michel Musa (AAA) 5 months old and a BioCarbon made of wood-base <span name="style_italic">Gmelina arborea</span>. To assess the pathogen incidence certain variables were taken into account like the disease hatchery period and the presence of external symptoms of it. Aside that, the severity was evaluated using a damage degree based on external and internal symptoms, which were visually estimated. The plants development was determined considering: plant height and the girth of the pseudo stem; the fresh and dry weight of roots, the aerial part, and the roots length were analyzed. The result analysis established that the presence of BioCarbon in the soil created no effect in the pathogen development due to the presence of symptoms of the disease during the same period of time not only in the treatments soil plot + inoculum and the soil treatments + inoculum + BioCarbon. Then, regarding the banana plants development, these responded positively to the presence of the BioCarbon. The plants with BioCarbon treatment showed bigger heights and a tendency for a pseudo stem with a bigger diameter, and also these ones had more aerial dry weight as well as in the root..
