Open-access Student experiences around the development of skills in the Communal University Work Empodero of the Atlantic Headquarters, University of Costa Rica

Abstract

In order to identify the formative impact of community work on university students, a mixed research study was carried out in which response frequencies were described and quantified. The objective of this study was to know from the student experiences if there is a development of skills in students who do Communal University Work. A questionnaire was applied to 24 students, who completed 7,200 hours of community work. It is concluded that there are skills that have greater development, such as collaboration and teamwork, flexibility and adaptability, creativity, communication, and respect for other people.
