The effect of six commercial brands of soap, Cristalin<span name="style_sup">®</span>, Brasso Antigrasa<span name="style_sup">®</span>, Barra Extra Verde<span name="style_sup">®</span>, Doña Blanca Barra<span name="style_sup">®</span>, Rinso® and Axión Limón<span name="style_sup">® </span>on the <span name="style_italic">Aulacaspis yasumatsui</span> populations was studied. The number of alive crawlers was significantly lower when using Cristalin<span name="style_sup">®</span> than with Rinso<span name="style_sup">®</span> and the control. Significant differences between alive adult females (F = 6.89; P < 0.0001) was found with Barra Extra Verde<span name="style_sup">®</span> and Cristalin<span name="style_sup">®</span> compared to the use of the control and Rinso<span name="style_sup">®</span>. The number of dead adult females differed significantly among treatments when Cristalin<span name="style_sup">®</span> (F = 6.32; P < 0.0001) was used; an average of 1,500 dead females against 1,000 dead individuals of the other treatments was recorded. The soap Cristalin<span name="style_sup">®</span> is considered the best option for <span name="style_italic">A. yasumatsui</span> control. control.
