Abstract
The article shows research findings related to teachers’ citizen behaviour by exploring social imaginary frames that arise in the teaching practice to the Teaching Initial Preparation at a Public University in Bio Bio Region, Chile. The study's methodology was qualitative, thus data were gathered through focus group in each preparation program and analyses were based on a structural semantics thematic strategy and situation-action. Theoretical framework is based on teacher citizenship behavior and social imaginary perspective. Among the most relevant results it is found that a teacher bassing his/her action on citizenship promoter, according to students, a suitable atmosphere in the initial training since this generator extra challenges and motivation in the development of the course subjects. As a conclusion, it is stated that teacher citizenship behavior is circumscribed to theoretical dimensions, teacher politeness and teaching practice; and it is viewed as positive value by students since it impacts on the teacher initial preparation as well as the professional career.
