With an exploratory qualitative study a review of self-assessment tools completed by the participants were generated categories to describe the contributions posted in the forums of the course and also the tasks that completed the participants on the topic of OER. The research concludes that it is common to make a direct assessment of the resource before using it, or consult with colleagues or experts in the field to make an appropriate and useful selection for educational practice.
