Abstract

The goal of the article was to analyze the factor structure of the Victimization Scale through mobile phone and Internet in a sample of 170 university students from a public educational institution in Morelos (Mexico) from the faculties of psychology, medicine, law and administration. An exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis was performed, the reliability of each of the factors was analyzed. The percentage of total variance explained was 43.48%. It was found and acceptable reliability index factor for both mobile phone (.65) and Internet (.63). Five items presented difficulties in their factor loadings, factor location or both. The confirmatory factor analysis showed an adequate fit of the two-factor model with the index SRMR = .05, RMSEA = .07, GFI = .97, CFI = .96, AGFI = .92 and NNFI = .92. The Victimization Scale through mobile and Internet can be used as a reliable and valid measurement instrument in Mexican studies with university students.
