Abstract:
This essay addresses an approach to the Holistic Educative Model (HEM) applied to the teaching of the arts in order to incorporate this model into the formal educative models from a co-curricular perspective. A documental research was developed in order to review, select and analyze diverse authors about holistic education as an axis of human being development. The results demonstrate that an integral view of the person and the world that surrounds them guides the educational institutions towards a holistic curriculum design where teaching of the arts allows the student to identify, analyze, approach, examine and live with intensity each of the experiences within the spheres of human life. The conclusions point out that education must have a holistic perspective of the student to establish a link with another spheres that have never been dealt with or not well tackled within the learning context. Artistic education has the potential to develop the sensitive dimension of people, in order to recreate their interaction in the world and seek the well-being of humankind.
